This game is incredibly messed up. Billy's Quest has a lot of boards. Most of them are broken in some way. There's two .MZX files in the game's archive. BILLY.MZX looks more complete.

I got stuck a few boards in at the first area where the game prompts you to type something in. There's only a few exact phrases that the game will accept for these, and you're not given any clues. If you don't edit the game and grab the list of phrases, it's very unlikely you'll ever get past. There's several of these that I found.

There's some combat, but there was no consideration towards whether it's beatable or not. Bosses will fill an entire board with fire or charge at you and fire so fast you can't even fire back.

There is no music, and a only few PC speaker sounds. Oddly, there's enough effort on the graphics that the game comes with multiple character sets. Still, the result is far worse than having no detail at all. Especially painful were those boards where the walls are extremly fast scrolling waterfall tiles. Some of the character edits are nice but they're used so poorly that some passages are hidden in solid walls without a distinct color.

This game is so broken that I can't even fight my way through it for review purposes. When I tried, I couldn't help but compare this game to one of those 100MPH car crashes where every single part of the car is destroyed beyond recognition.

It's amazing how bad this thing is. How much bad content there is. Dozens of completely nonsensical boards. I'd rather pull an all nighter where I play all of Giel's games consecutively than try and untangle this thing. Not that it even matters because I don't think there's an ending.

It is just profoundly awful.
