I went through the archives, excited with the new review system, to find a game that I liked. So here it is. "That's Odd..."

What can I say? The game was original. Smileys were used; the graphics weren't amazing, but they fit and do well. There's no negative score on the graphics, or the sound, which I thought to be rather amusing (since Noah decided to use PC sfx, rarely done anymore).
That's odd gets odd from the very beginning. You seem to be in a store of some kind, and there is a man there being pulsed through with electricity. "That's Odd..." you say, and obviously that's the result the game-maker was looking for.
While playing the game, I never got bored, for if there was some kind of puzzle it was never too hard-- yet still a bit challenging, and fun. Also the game contained enough diverse boards to keep my attention. Especially when you find the mild twist in the game: it was interesting, and entertaining to see little ascii characters acting out a relatively complicated plot which made sense to some extent.
This is the kind of game that when you're finished, you can go back to board 1 and play all over again. Play the game and see for yourself. I love smileys and simple graphics.

I have a soft spot for this game, most definitely. It's a short little jaunt into surreality with a crude ZZT-flavored atmosphere for added creepiness, and Noah comes up with some neat brain-twisting little paradoxes that make it worth the while to go through at least once.
