This game is old (around '96 according to the file's date), and it shows. The graphics are plain (though there are non-default chars and fonts), the sound is PC speakers only, Caverns music is used, and the gameplay is standard moving and shooting (and I guess spellcasting, but it's actually possible to play the game without pressing the S key).

The story is as follows: You're a mage, your king tells you to get four crystals, he then uses them to blow up a spaceship or something causing world destruction, then you go to the underworld to confront a demon, and then he turns you into a hellspawn. Whatever gets the game going, I guess.

I'd like to say that it's not really that bad of a game, but sadly there are a multitude of gameplay issues. Two areas have ping pong lava paths, a few points demand vital items that you can't backtrack to by the time you get there, robots have improper coding (which include not unlocking the player after finishing, a cutscene robot getting overwritten before completing the cutscene, and the ending failing to trigger)... the whole game's a mess, really.

I have no nostalgia for this game; I don't remember what my first non-Zeux series game was, but it certainly wasn't this. And even if I did grew up with this game, I'd only remember it as a sloppy unfinishable piece of junk. Sorry...
