This is a nice little demo of what could have been a neat MZX RPG. Although the battles are one-on-one, Gemini managed to make them tactical and fast-paced enough to be interesting. The plot (or what we see of it) is a bit so-so, but it works with the theme. I recommend trying it out.

This is very good. The graphics are excellent and it has a very well done battle system. Wish it could have gotten finished.

Honestly, this game has one of the most complete battle systems of any MZX RPG, and I'd say the game as a whole looks good, too. Kudos to Gemini, although it's a shame the game never got done.

I remember Gemini almost had this game done, but lost it in a hard drive crash and didn't want to rebuild his lost progress. It's a damn shame. This game is good.

The design has a very modular feel; all the windows work in a similar fashion and have consistent design. Battles are, especially for 1-on-1, surprisingly not boring. There is a pretty good number of items to buy, including weapons, armor, items and spells. And they're actually useful.

The graphics are mostly functional but the custom graphics work well and the default tiles are used to a nice effect. Even if the default palette predominates as well, it still looks nice.

There are .sam sound files, but nothing majorly annoying. Music isn't original, which seems a bit strange to me. Gemini was an excellent tracker. Still, the .mod music was fitting and very good in most cases.

Definitely play this one.
